About 247connect
What is 247connect?
247connect is cloud-based remote desktop software that helps IT teams securely access, view, control and support devices from anywhere. It provides both Managed Device access for computers and devices you support regularly, and On-demand Remote Support for ad-hoc support sessions. Features include remote control, file transfer, chat, messaging, hardware inventory, PowerShell, Task Manager, Registry Editor and more.
What is remote desktop software?
Remote desktop software allows an authorised user to securely connect to another computer or device from a different location. IT teams can use it to view or control remote devices, troubleshoot problems, transfer files, communicate with users and carry out support tasks without being physically in front of the device.
247connect provides remote desktop access for both regularly managed devices and one-off support sessions.
What can I use 247connect remote desktop software for?
You can use 247connect to remotely troubleshoot IT problems, support employees or customers, access unattended computers and servers, transfer files, communicate with end users and manage devices across different locations.
It is designed for organisations that need secure remote access without the complexity or cost of a full Remote Monitoring and Management platform.
Managed and On-demand remote access
What is the difference between Managed Devices and On-demand Remote Support?
Managed Devices are designed for computers and devices you need to access regularly. A Managed Agent remains installed on each device so authorised users can connect whenever support is required, including for unattended access.
On-demand Remote Support is designed for ad-hoc or one-off support. The end user downloads a temporary Agent to establish the connection, and the Agent is automatically removed when the session ends.
What is a Managed Agent?
The Managed Agent is a small piece of software installed on a device you want to support regularly. Once installed and assigned to a device group, authorised 247connect users can securely connect to that device when required.
Managed Agents can be used for both attended and unattended devices, including PCs, laptops, servers and other business-critical systems.
What does the On-demand Agent do?
The On-demand Agent creates a temporary secure connection between the person providing support and the device that needs assistance.
The technician creates an On-demand session and sends the end user a link. The user downloads the Agent and joins the session. When the support session ends, the On-demand Agent is automatically removed from the user's device.
Can I remotely access an unattended computer?
Yes. Install the 247connect Managed Agent on the computer and assign it to an appropriate device group. Authorised users can then access and support the device remotely without requiring someone to be sitting in front of it.
This makes Managed Devices suitable for unattended PCs, servers, kiosks, shared systems and devices located in remote offices.
Remote access security
Is 247connect secure?
247connect is designed around a Zero Trust Network Access approach and includes security controls such as two-factor authentication, 256-bit AES encryption, role-based permissions and comprehensive audit logs.
Administrators can control which users have access to particular features and device groups, helping prevent users from accessing devices or tools they do not need.
Does 247connect support Single Sign-On?
Yes. Users can sign in to 247connect using Microsoft, Google or Apple credentials, as well as using a local 247connect account.
This can reduce the number of separate credentials users need to manage and allows organisations to use established identity providers as part of their login process. View other integrations here.
Does 247connect keep audit logs?
Yes. 247connect includes a detailed audit log that records key activity within your account.
Administrators can review information such as the date and time of an action, what activity took place, the user responsible and the device or device group affected. Filters and reporting options make it easier to investigate activity and support auditing requirements.
Where is 247connect hosted?
247connect is hosted using regional Microsoft Azure infrastructure in the UK, US and Germany.
Customers select their data region when setting up their account. For example, UK customer data can be hosted in the UK, while EU/EEA data can be hosted within the German Azure region. This helps organisations meet their own data residency and compliance requirements.

Pricing, licensing and support
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes. 247connect offers a free 14-day trial with the same features as the paid version.
The trial includes two On-demand licences and support for ten Managed Devices, allowing you to test both types of remote support. No credit card details are required and there is no obligation to buy when the trial ends.
How is 247connect licensed?
247connect offers packages, combining Managed Devices and On-demand Remote Support to suit different team sizes and support requirements. You can also purchase Managed and On-demand licences separately if you prefer to build your own setup. Managed licences cover devices you support regularly, while On-demand licences are assigned to users providing ad-hoc remote support.
How many remote devices can I connect to at once?
Each 247connect user can connect to up to five devices at the same time.
All authorised users can be active simultaneously, so one technician doesn't need to disconnect before another can start working. This can be particularly useful for IT teams handling several support requests at the same time.
Are updates included and how long is a subscription?
Product updates are included with your 247connect licence. Standard subscriptions run for 12 months and are billed annually. If you need a longer term or different licensing arrangement, contact the 247connect team to discuss your requirements.
What support is available?
247connect customers can access technical support from teams based in the UK and USA by phone, email or online chat. The 247connect Information Hub also provides product documentation, installation guidance, deployment information and technical help.
