Remote Desktop Access case study - "a great product – thank you!"

When searching for a remote support solution, finding the right balance of security, simplicity and value can be a challenge. In this case study, one 247connect customer shares why they chose 247connect and the impact it has had on their day-to-day IT operations.

"I needed a simple, uncomplicated, remote access solution to allow me to securely connect to separate PCs without having to have [port] 3389 open, setting up a VPN or having to use port forwarding that could leave my network vulnerable to external attack. In particular, I was looking for a secure cloud-based RDP/file transfer interface solution that had a DDNS resource to help connect if my ISP changed my IP address.

During my search, many major players appeared, including LogMeIn, TeamViewer, Remote Desktop Manager, SplashTop, RustDesk and AnyDesk. I have used some of these over the past 20 years for customers, and when working remotely, but found it difficult to get timely assistance when required, particularly after hours.

Price point was a major factor, as well as these considerations:

  1. I needed to be able to manage it and easily use its features.
  2. It needed to have online support and video tutorials if I needed assistance.
  3. It needed fast connections every time, despite potential network IP address changes.
  4. Provides feedback status on the PCs I wish to connect to.
  5. A solution that did not leave my systems open to 3389 port sniffing or a need to set up port forwarding.

247connect does all of this, and, for me, provides that robust connection back to the office that allows me to make real-time application changes and file transfers.

I can see how 247connect would be invaluable to large enterprises IT departments trying to manage many staff across significant distant locations.

If I had known about 247connect 20 years ago, I would have taken on a retail remote PC support service function!

Overall, 247connect is a great product – thank you!"
